It is
particularly important to ensure that the grade selected is adequate for the
working head of the cylinder, (i.e. the distance between the bottom of the
cylinder and the level of water in the cold water feed cistern. The better the
grade the better the resistance to copper corrosion and the better the longevity
of the cylinder. Note the thickness of copper sheet before forming on the chart
below, just over half a millimetre in some cases.
We supply various sizes of hot water cylinder, depending on your requirements. All have 60mm of CFC and HCFC free insulation for energy efficiency.
The cylinder is protected against overheating by a sensor which switches off the pump when the temperature reaches 80 deg C. For safety, especially with children, we therefore recommend the installation of a mixing valve to prevent scalding.
Hot
water accounts for 47% of the power used by an average New Zealand home. A hot
water cylinder wrap can reduce that percentage substantially and save up to 10%
on your electricity bill!
